WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 6, 2016)—In honor of an innovative and dedicated champion of the HME community, the Homecare Champion Award presented each year at the Stand Up for Homecare reception will now be named the Van Miller Homecare Champion Award. This honor, which is presented for outstanding HME service, is being renamed to reflect the characteristics of HME visionary Van G. Miller, past CEO and founder of the VGM Group, Inc.

Miller's service on the Board of Directors of AAHomecare, as well as his determination to make The VGM Group a strong presence on Capitol Hill and a force in mobilizing grassroots support on HME policy priorities, serves as a benchmark for other leaders in our industry to strive for. We are proud to have honored Miller as one of AAHomecare’s earliest Homecare Champion Award winners in 2012, and are pleased his name will now be synonymous with this award.

“Van had the foresight and drive to create more than just his own successful company―instead, he helped build hundreds of flourishing companies that are essential lifelines to patients all over the county,” said AAHomecare president Tom Ryan. “It is with great respect for this leader in the industry that we rename this award in his honor.”

The first ever Van Miller Homecare Champion Award will be presented to a deserving leader in the HME community during the Stand Up for Homecare reception at Medtrade November 1, 5:30–7 p.m., at the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
