The toolkit will provide tools for educating end users & families of those in the HME industry how to submit their opposing comments

ARLINGTON, Virginia—American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) announced that it has launched a new End User CBP Activation Toolkit to help the HME industry submit its comments in opposition to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services's (CMS) proposed rule to revive the competitive bidding program (CBP).

AAHomecare said the toolkit provides suppliers, manufacturers and partner organizations with the proper tools to educate and activate a critical but often under-utilized group: end users whose access to care is directly on the line. Resources include:
•    Comment guide with clear instructions and talking points
•    Educational resources that explain what’s at stake for end users
•    Sample e-mail and social media content to help spread the word

“This is an all-hands-on-deck moment,” said Tom Ryan, president and CEO of AAHomecare. “We must activate every corner of the HME community—including the voices of end users and their families—to stop these provisions that would devastate access to care and dismantle the HME infrastructure that makes home-based care possible.”

“AAHomecare is working closely with allied consumer organizations who share our deep concerns on the dangerous provisions of the Proposed Rule,” explains Ashley Plauché, senior director of brand marketing for AAHomecare. “The toolkit breaks down more than 260 pages regulatory language into clear, actionable guidance to help end users understand what’s at stake and why their voices are urgently needed in this fight.”

According to AAHomecare, if finalized, the proposed rule would "trigger unsustainable pricing, dramatically shrink the supplier network and destabilize the HME industry—harming millions of Americans and putting long-term access to home-based care at risk."
