DAVISON, Mich., and CROWN POINT, Ind. — Universal Software Solutions and HealthCall have partnered on a new automated system called HealthCall Direct to help providers stay in touch with patients, refill supplies and meet compliance requirements.

A companion to Universal's Healthcare Data Management System (HDMS), the new system connects HDMS and HealthCall, sending patient order details from the Universal system to HealthCall. HealthCall Direct then contacts patients via multiple phone numbers, email, web, postal mail or alternate contacts. As patients respond, compliance documentation and supply reorders are automatically created and returned to the Universal HDMS system to follow the normal workflow for delivery.

"This will create a completely new standard of care," said Dave Golen, Universal's vice president of business development, in a release. "As HME suppliers are facing more costs and less room for service, this will fully automate a time consuming process, enable more management by exception and ensure patients receive the supplies they need."
