PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (July 2, 2014)—Effective July 2, Drive Medical announced the acquisition of the business of Medquip, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative health care products located in South Carolina. Medquip manufactures high quality nebulizers, respiratory disposable products, pulse oximeters, TENS units, breast pumps and digital blood pressure equipment. The Company is best known for pioneering and developing its world-renowned AIRIAL line of pediatric nebulizers.

Harvey Diamond, chairman and CEO of Drive Medical states, “This acquisition expands the Company’s consumer medical product portfolio and positions Drive as one of the leading manufacturers in the nebulizer and respiratory disposable product categories. Through this acquisition, Drive will also be adding breast pumps and digital blood pressure products which will provide additional retail opportunities to our customers.”

Craig Bright, the principal owner of Medquip, will be joining the Drive management team as senior vice president of business development, respiratory products, and will be directing the sales and marketing activities of the combined companies’ nebulizer and respiratory disposable product categories in North America. The operations of Medquip will be integrated into Drive’s state-of-the-art Southeast distribution center located in Atlanta.
