CUMMING, Ga., March 15, 2013—Rob Brant of Accredited Medical Equipment Providers of America (AMEPA) has coordinated a relaunch of the White House petition to replace Medicare’s current bidding program with the Market Pricing Program. White House petitions only last 30 days and need 100,000 signatures in order to gain a response from the president. Brant believes the industry can gain well over 100,000 signatures with the use of www.savepatientaccess.com, which redirects browsers to the new White House petition link. Now patients, providers and the health care community can add their voice against the current flawed program by entering www.savepatientaccess.com instead of a 100+ character weblink.

The original petition was created by a NYMEP member, but was only promoted by groups and associations towards the end of that 30 day deadline. Unfortunately, the first White House petition expired on Sunday, March 10 at 11:59 PM. The new petition will expire on 30 days at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 17.

Mail Order Diabetic and other providers are excited to promote www.savepatientaccess.com in message boards and flyers. If 5,000 providers simply gain five patients per week over the four-week period, the industry can send a clear message to President Obama that this program must be changed.

Special thanks to Carol Naperski for her work on the relaunch and Kelly Turner from People For Quality Care who came up with the domain name, which is our industry’s unified message. Providers can contact Brant at rob@amepa.us to request a sample promotional flyer to distribute.
