LOS ANGELES (Oct. 24, 2014)—O2 Concepts unveiled the design for the New Oxlife Independence + DNA Technology at Medtrade 2014 in Atlanta. The new POC delivers 4 LPM of continuous flow oxygen, and is the first integrated concentrator on a cellular network. Higher flow rates allow dealers a travel solution for 4LPM patients—providing 1.5 hours of ambulatory time on battery power. This allows the system to run more efficiently and reliably at lower settings. DNA Technology gathers real-time data from the devices, and the ability to monitor device data enables O2 to provide real-time support during a customer call. Dealers are also able to gather maintenance data remotely and avoid the costs of going to a patient’s home. The true value of DNA technology goes beyond maintenance. Dealers can monitor ambulatory vs. in-home usage to ensure expensive devices are dedicated to ambulatory patients. The platform is customizable with options for dealers who go fleet-wide with the product for non-delivery. “In this environment we are laser focused on reducing total cost of doing business for our customers," said Rob Kent, president and COO for O2 Concepts. "To be most effective you need to think outside the lines of providing cheaper products. You need to provide innovative solutions that reduce total cost. Our products will continue to evolve along those lines.”
