NASHVILLE (Dec. 1, 2014)—National Seating & Mobility (NSM) announced the acquisition of Home Health Depot’s (HHD) custom seating and mobility division. HHD branches serve physicians, therapists, clients and caregivers from hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and clinics in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Texas.

This acquisition adds 16 assistive technology professionals to NSM’s roster, plus about 50 support professionals. The former HHD locations will begin immediate operations as NSM branches in Atlanta; Coralville and Urbandale, Iowa; Indianapolis and Broadview (Chicago East), Illinois. HHD’s Austin and Ft. Wayne staff will join local NSM branches in those cities. The Atlanta branches will merge sometime during 2015.

“This is an excellent addition for us. HHD is a respected presence in our industry, with an exceptional staff and reputation,” said NSM CEO Mike Ballard. “They are a perfect complement to our mission."

HHD CEO David Hartley added, “NSM’s impressive national performance has come with no compromise in service quality. There couldn’t be a better fit for our seating and mobility team.”

Founded in 1998, HHD will continue as a multistate provider of complex respiratory products, durable medical equipment and advanced home accessibility equipment, with a focus on hospital partnerships and serving the equipment needs of hospice patients. HHD will also continue to provide home medical equipment on a retail basis through its retail stores located throughout Indiana.
