LENEXA, Kansas (July 6, 2015)—Mediware Information Systems Inc., a provider of comprehensive post-acute care health care software, announced the immediate availability of an integrated patient pay solution for users of their CPR+ pharmacy software. By leveraging the strengths of two of their strategic business partners, A/R Allegiance Group (ARA) and Rock-Pond Solutions, the revenue cycle management features of CPR+ are extended to include the patient billing and collection services of A/R Allegiance.

The integration is based on the Rock-Pond proprietary data transfer technology that defines, schedules and automates secure data transfers between systems.

“This allows Rock-Pond reports and CPR+ Analytics to work in conjunction with ARA’s private pay billing and collection process, and provides an efficient way to deal with the growing challenge of patient pay collections,” said Pete Tanguay, president of Rock-Pond Solutions. “The automated transfer of data provides an immediate solution to the patient pay challenge without any loss of visibility to patient responsibility activity while performing collections for patient insurance and other accounts receivable management functions.”

Collecting the patient’s portion of the health care payment is becoming more important as profit margins shrink and patient responsibility grows.

“Our COLLECTPlus patient billing and collection system solves the patient pay portion of billing and A/R management, allowing providers to focus on the larger portion: money due from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies,” says Keith Lilek, CEO of A/R Allegiance Group. “Providers are typically collecting less than half their private pay money when we begin working with them. With COLLECTPlus and our dedicated focus, we are able to increase this percentage to 80 percent or more.”

The seamless integration connects CPR+ and COLLECTPlus so claims, payment and adjustment activity is transferred between the systems without human intervention, ensuring data accuracy and freeing up valuable Provider resources for other A/R activities.

“It is vital to provide our customers with comprehensive solutions that will maximize their revenue and streamline their collection processes. By partnering with industry leaders such as Rock-Pond and A/R Allegiance Group, we are able to deliver on that commitment to our customer base,” says Paul O’Toole, vice president and general manager of the home care solutions division of Mediware.
