It’s important for HME providers to ask their representatives and senators to support the Market Pricing Program (MPP) during this congressional recess, AAHomecare says.

Congress is in recess until late January, and many lawmakers are in home states. So it’s a good time to ask them to contact their party’s leadership and ask that the MPP proposal be included in the final “doc fix” bill. The short “patch” to the doc fix as well as the extension of payroll tax cuts expire at the end of February 2012. “So time is short,’’ AAHomecare said in a release last week.

Providers who have questions or feedback for House or Senate staff, should contact Jay Witter at jayw@aahomecare.org.

MPP offers an alternative to competitive bidding that preserves more of the HME industry, saves the government money and provides better service to Medicare beneficiaries.
