ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Former pharmacist, HME provider and
consultant Shelly Prial “retired” from writing his popular “Shelly
Sez” columns for HomeCare in 2007, but we knew he couldn’t
retire from the industry he so loves. Now serving as Medtrade
Ambassador, the 60-year HME veteran has launched a blog that
focuses on survival tactics, advice and news updates, show
organizer Nielsen Expositions announced last week.

The blog is designed to connect the industry’s providers and
manufacturers in conversations and shared experiences that will
increase their ability to provide superior patient care while
maintaining profitability, the Medtrade producers said. “Shelly
Sounds Off” can be found at shellysoundsoff.blogspot.com. The site is enabled with
a comments section, so readers can discuss the issues Prial
presents and offer insight on how they are incorporating innovative
processes in their companies.

“I hope providers will use ‘Shelly Sounds Off’ as a potential
source of information and help. Every day, it seems that new
difficulties make their appearance and there are different problems
to resolve, but I want providers to know that they are not the only
ones facing them,” said Prial. “The purpose of the blog is to give
all readers a place to ask questions and receive answers.”
