Each November—Home Care and Hospice Month—the homecare and hospice community honors the millions of nurses, homecare aides, therapists and social workers who make a remarkable difference for the patients and families they serve. These caregivers play a central role in our health care system and in homes across the nation.

To raise awareness and celebrate the work of nurses, the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) followed three homecare nurses on their rounds and filmed their activities. NAHC calls upon all Americans to commemorate the power of caring, both at the home and in their local communities. Take a look behind the scenes of homecare, below.

  • Ninety percent of Americans want to age in place, and homecare is the preferred method of health care delivery among the disabled, elderly, and chronically ill.
