ALBANY, Ga. — Provider Tyler Riddle of MRS Homecare in
Albany, Ga., and several associates have been working to develop a
resource to help HME providers and their patients fight Medicare’s competitive bidding
program. Along with an explanation of the bidding program, the
new website includes action points for consumers and a “warning
letter” providers can send to their customers about the bidding
program.

“I just want to urge providers to visit the site and get the
word out to their patients and referral sources. We want them to
think about how many people they can reach if they send out a copy
of the warning letter with EVERY work-order that they send out,”
Riddle told the Georgia Association of Medical Equipment
Services.

“We can no longer let CMS put a positive spin on everything that
they do. Now is the time to take OUR patients and educate them, let
them understand how this process will affect them and let them
voice their concerns to CMS.”
