GRAND FORKS, North Dakota—Altru Health System announced its home health services will permanently close effective Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026.
The agency's home health services include skilled nursing, physical therapists, occupational therapists, home health aides and medical social work.
Ken Hanson, senior marketing and communications specialist at Altru, confirmed the closure to Fargo, North Dakota-based news outlet Valley News Live.
“Evolving regulatory standards have been a burden for this type of care, which has led to many home health agencies closing over the past few years,” Hanson said.
Altru said on its website that patients who continue to qualify for home health services will receive assistance coordinating a transition to another Medicare-certified home health agency serving their area. Home-based outpatient therapy services through Regional Therapy Providers will continue in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.
