Medico to Focus on Hispanics
MIAMI — Dynamic Response Group said last week its
subsidiary Medico Express is ready to launch an ad campaign as soon
the company gets a Medicare billing number, which it expects this
month.
“The company intends on becoming a leader in the multibillion
dollar diabetic supply industry by utilizing its core business
model of direct response advertising and consumer delivery
[through] mail system,” according to a release.
“We believe that we can provide a necessary and more efficient
method of servicing the millions of diabetic patients in the U.S.,
and more specifically the millions of Hispanic diabetics, which
unfortunately is the fastest-growing segment in the U.S.,” said CEO
Melissa K. Rice.
Medico has completed production of several television spots that
will begin airing within weeks of receiving its provider number,
the release said. Shipping and billing software has been installed
on Medico’s IT system, and it has set up an in-house call
center.
The company has been cleared to sell diabetic supplies in 44
states, and applications have been submitted to obtain the
necessary licenses in the remaining states and U.S. territories.
The company also plans to expand its line with other HME.
A national supplier will ship directly to Medico’s customers
from its warehouse, “which will allow Medico to launch its business
with virtually no investment in inventory or shipping personnel
expense,” the release said. “Medico is also working with a mail
order company to fill its patients’ prescription needs.”
