Catching up with the 115th Congress

New CMS rules and regulations kept advocates hopping on Capitol Hill, working to ensure access to home medical equipment and home health. HomeCare looks back at significant legislation from 2018 and 2017, and where those bills stand as of press time. Bills that died in committee have a chance to be reintroduced with the new Congress. Looking back, AAHomecare’s Tom Ryan said grassroots advocacy for HR 4229 played a role in Capitol Hill’s engagement with the industry and pushing major policy wins, such as the ESRD/DMEPOS Final Rule through. For 2019, William A. Dombi, president of NAHC, relayed that the changes in Congress don’t affect the agency’s advocacy strategy.
