Covidien Sells CPAP Lines

DUBLIN, Ireland — Covidien will sell its CPAP and bilevel
sleep therapy products, including its Nancy, France, manufacturing
facility as well as related commercial operations in Europe, to PH
Invest, a privately held company located in Luxembourg.

While the deal includes several products sold under the
GoodKnight and Sandman brands, it excludes the sleep interface
products sold under the Adam, Breeze and Dreamfit names, which will
continue to be sold by Covidien.

A company release said the decision is consistent with
Covidien’s strategy to streamline its portfolio and reallocate
resources to its faster-growing, higher-margin businesses where the
company can develop a global advantage. The company sold its sleep diagnostics
and oxygen lines in 2009.
