Round 1 Still ‘Coming Soon’

CMS continues its weekly reminders that providers must update NSC
files, get licensed, get accredited and get bonded to prepare for
competitive bidding. Last week, the agency held a hastily scheduled
Webinar to explain the bidding program to referral sources and
beneficiary advocates. And the Program Advisory and Oversight
Committee held a discussion call about capacity required to serve
each competitive bidding area (although no decisions were made). In
CMS’ words, “get ready,” because Round 1 is “coming soon.” The
agency has said it will release a detailed timeline in the near
future.
