Reminder on One-Year Filing Limit
CMS reminded providers that under the Affordable Care Act, all fee-for-service claims dating from Jan. 1, 2010, and beyond must be submitted within one year of service or face automatic denial.
BALTIMORE — Last week CMS reminded providers that under the Affordable Care Act, all fee-for-service claims dating from Jan. 1, 2010, and beyond must be submitted within one year of service or face automatic denial.
The health reform law also requires that all claims with service dates from Oct. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2009, be filed by Dec. 31, 2010, to avoid denial.
