ATLANTA — As HomeCare Monday reported, legislation has been introduced in Congress that would delay national competitive bidding, currently set to begin in 10 MSAs July 1.
H.R. 6252 was introduced by Reps. Pete Stark, D-Calif., and David Camp, R-Mich. Dubbed the “Stark-Camp” bill, its official title is the “Medicare DMEPOS Competitive Acquisition Program Reform Act of 2008.”
A companion bill in the Senate was expected to be introduced this afternoon.
The American Association for Homecare, the VGM Group and The MED Group, along with many other national and state HME associations, have issued urgent calls to their members to support passage of H.R. 6252.

According to AAHomecare, “the moment for action is upon us” as H.R. 6252 is on the fast track for a vote.

Call or email your state’s two senators and ask for their support of a Senate companion bill to H.R. 6252.
