Jurisdiction A Oxygen Probe

Based on the results of a prepayment review of claims for HCPCS
E1390, E0432 and E0439 that turned up a 76 percent denial rate,
NHIC said last week the review will continue. According to the
Jurisdiction A DME MAC, the primary reasons for denial
included:

• No in-person exam 30 days prior to date of initial CMN;
• No in-person exam 90 days prior to date of recertification CMN;
  and
• Oxygen saturation level could not be validated.
