Markowski Takes Reins at ACCP

NORTHBROOK, Ill. — The American College of Chest Physicians announced
last week that its Board of Regents has named Paul A. Markowski,
CAE, as the new executive vice president and CEO for the
international medical specialty society. Markowski will succeed
Alvin Lever, FCCP(Hon), as only the fourth CEO in the society’s
75-year history. For the last four years, Markowski has been the
deputy executive vice president and COO at the American Academy of
Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery. Prior to that
position, he worked with the American Medical Association for 15
years, holding such positions as director of federation relations
and advocacy campaign manager.
