ATLANTA (November 23, 2021)—PruittHealth, Inc. and affiliated entities have agreed to pay $4.2 million to resolve allegations that they submitted claims for home health services that were not covered by the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and that they failed to refund overpayments that they had received from Medicare and Medicaid in a timely manner.

AKRON, Ohio (October 5, 2021)—ACU-Serve, Corp. has acquired Professional Medical Administrators, Inc. (Pro-Med) to become the largest home medical equipment (HME) revenue cycle management firm in the United States.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (August 25, 2020)—eSolutions, a health care technology company, is adding an enhancement to its Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Eligibility platform that allows DME providers to check for same or similar equipment items on multiple patients at once. This new enhancement, called Same or Similar Batch, verifies all Medicare HCPCS codes, including A, L and V codes, for same or similar equipment items.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 3, 2020)—As announced first in January 2019, starting in calendar year (CY) 2021 (and through CY 2024) the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will begin a demonstration program under the Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) model to test coverage of hospice care as part of the Medicare Advantage (MA) benefit package.
