Open Door on PECOS for Docs

BALTIMORE — CMS has scheduled an Open Door Forum Tuesday,
Nov. 17 (tomorrow), from 2 to 3 p.m. ET for physicians, nurses, and
allied health professionals on the Medicare Provider Enrollment,
Chain and Ownership System, or PECOS.

According to the meeting notice, topics will include the impact
of Change Requests 6417 and CR 6421, which require that Part B
providers bill for Medicare items or services only when they are
ordered or referred by physician and non-physician practitioners
who are enrolled in PECOS and who are eligible to order/refer.
