NHIA Holds 2026 Annual Conference

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia—The 2026 National Home Infusion Association Annual Conference (NHIA 2026) convened the largest gathering dedicated to the home and alternate site infusion industry in Denver, Colorado. 

The organization said the conference drew record attendance with more than 1,700 industry professionals investing in the five-day event and featured the most extensive expo in the event’s history with more than 150 product and service suppliers supporting the industry, including 40 first-time exhibitors.

NHIA 2026 speakers and research poster authors shared a variety of perspectives on the regulatory landscape and the latest trends in patient care. NHIA President and CEO Connie Sullivan set the tone for the event at the executive preconference, sharing findings from NHIA’s recent industry trends report showing steady growth across the home infusion market, with strong momentum in specialty therapies and IVIG, and continued advocacy around reimbursement challenges in anti-infectives and parenteral nutrition. Other preconference sessions explored ambulatory infusion suite strategies, AI adoption for home infusion providers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) reform. 

The conference covered significant ground on the current policy landscape, including home infusion legislation, PBM reform and new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid models such as IPAY, GLOBE and GUARD. Guest panelists Soumi Saha and Jayson Slotnik joined NHIA’s Bill Noyes and Shea McCarthy to share insights into the dynamics and intricacies of policy developments and their impact on the industry. 

NHIA hosted its Sterile Compounding Clinic, featuring hands-on training in a simulated clean room environment on the Expo floor, and introduced its first-ever Foundations of Home Infusion Preconference for those new to the industry or those seeking a clearer interdisciplinary picture. The enhanced Infusion Experience at the NHIA Expo took over 350 attendees through simulated infusion suite and home settings to educate attendees on standards. More than 50 education sessions covered topics ranging from innovative care models and workforce safety to reimbursement strategies and clinical management.

NHIA presented its second Changemaker Award to Crystal Killian, a recognized patient advocate in the parenteral nutrition community who joined NHIA members on Capitol Hill to advocate for the Preserving Patient Access to Home Infusion Act. 

“Thank you to the industry for all the work you do to give many of us a chance to live our best lives,” said Killian.

The NHIA Innovation Award, which highlights the role ground-breaking products and services play in improving home infusion patient care and/or advancing operations, was presented to Mandolin, which replaces fragmented electronic medical record workflows with AI agents that execute the end-to-end lifecycle from referral to first dose.

Additional honors included the Gene Graves Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Melissa Leone, for her 35+ year career in home infusion; the Lynn Giglione Women in Leadership Award presented to Barbara Petroff; and the NHIF Outstanding Abstract Achievement Award to Lisa Kinder, from Optum Infusion Pharmacy for her poster entitled “Patient Safety During Critical IV Solution Shortage: A Home Infusion Provider’s Collaborative Strategy.”
