Boomer Medical Equipment, doing business as Risch Home Health Care, is a home medical equipment provider in Ohio

INDIANAPOLIS—Rehab Medical, a provider of complex rehab technology (CRT), announced the acquisition of Boomer Medical Equipment, doing business as Risch Home Health Care, a home medical equipment provider serving Central Ohio. The acquisition was finalized Jan. 1, 2026.

This marked Rehab Medical's second acquisition to begin 2026: It also purchased Consolidated Medical, Inc., a long-standing complex rehab provider based in New Windsor, New York, giving it its first location in the northeastern United States.

“(The Risch) acquisition reflects our commitment to thoughtful growth—strengthening existing markets, integrating great teams and expanding our ability to serve patients with consistency and care,” said Kevin Gearheart, president of Rehab Medical. “Risch Home Health Care has built a legacy of trust in Central Ohio, and we’re proud to carry that forward.”

Through this acquisition, Rehab Medical said patients and providers will continue working with the same team while gaining access to Rehab Medical’s resources, specialized mobility expertise and operational support. Rather than operating as a standalone location, Boomer Medical will transition into Rehab Medical’s existing Columbus office.

Rehab said:

  • All Boomer Medical and Consolidated Medical employees will transition.
  • Existing patients will continue receiving service, support, and equipment without interruption.
  • Boomer Medical’s medical supply services will also transition into Rehab Medical’s resupply division.
  • Patients who previously received equipment through Consolidated Medical can continue to obtain service by contacting the Rehab Medical Service Team at (866) 424-4500.
