National safety provider enhances capabilities supporting aging adults with living independently

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania—Medical Guardian announced it has acquired MobileHelp from Advocate Aurora Enterprises to broaden its suite of health care solutions supporting aging adults with living independently and safely. The strategic acquisition bolsters Medical Guardian’s safety, engagement and wellness capabilities provided to more than 600,000 active members through its personal emergency response systems (PERS), remote patient monitoring (RPM) and health care engagement services.

With MobileHelp, Medical Guardian will further support members across all market segments, including direct-to-consumer health care, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, senior living, homecare and health system programs. The company plans to incorporate MobileHelp's patented technology into its flagship service, MGEngage360. This service transforms traditional PERS into an at-home tool providing members with proactive wellness and care outreach that is increasing user engagement, closing care gaps and driving higher-quality care while reducing costs.

“With the acquisition of MobileHelp, we're now making PERS and RPM a cohesive solution to support aging adults and the chronically ill,” said Geoff Gross, founder & CEO of Medical Guardian and newly appointed president of the Medical Alert Monitoring Association. “This highly differentiated technology complements our mission to empower our members to live a life without limits, while delivering tangible value to health care partners. We're now even better equipped to support member needs across all environments—at home, on the go, and in senior living communities—with a comprehensive suite of solutions.”

“We are thrilled to expand the reach of our patented RPM and PERS technology through Medical Guardian's extensive partnerships and services, creating a unified platform that enhances and helps expand access to care nationwide," Rob Flippo, co-founder of MobileHelp, said. "With more than 60 million Americans aged 65 and older leading increasingly active lifestyles, it is essential to provide robust and intuitive solutions that support their independence and health. Joining Medical Guardian is a vital step forward in realizing that vision.”

Medical Guardian's brand, which has an 83 Net Promoter Score (NPS), will now cater to an even broader range of member needs across all market segments. MobileHelp, recently ranked as the best medical alert system of 2024 by U.S. News & World Report, will retain its brand identity within the direct-to-consumer health care space and commercial partner distribution. Both brands will continue to leverage their strengths to meet the evolving needs of their members and partners, ensuring a seamless user experience and continuity of services.
