LOS ANGELES—Daybreak, a sleep apnea solutions company, has joined Parachute Health, an e-prescribing platform for home medical equipment (HME). Daybreak said this marks its first entry into e-prescribing and makes it available to the more than 300,000 clinicians and prescribers and 3,000 HME provider locations nationwide who use Parachute Health.
"Obstructive sleep apnea remains widely underdiagnosed and undertreated in the United States, in part because the path from testing to treatment has historically been fragmented across multiple systems and providers," said Wesley Lones, founder and CEO of Daybreak. "By joining Parachute Health, it continues our broader mission to increase access to care, shorten time to treatment and simplify a therapy pathway that has long been disjointed for both patients and the providers who treat them."
Providers using Parachute Health can now refer patients directly to Daybreak within the same e-prescribing workflow they already use for other HME orders. For physicians, this places Daybreak alongside the ordering systems and insurance networks. For HME providers, they can use their established pathways within Parachute Health’s platform to request and receive prescriptions and clinical documentation to support patient therapies. The companies said this shortens the time it takes to generate a valid, signed prescription, reducing the administrative burden that has historically slowed the path from sleep apnea diagnosis to treatment.

Daybreak is now live and accepting orders through Parachute Health. Following an obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis, either provided by the ordering physician or by Daybreak via their home sleep test and telehealth solution, an impression kit is sent to the patient for a custom-fit Daybreak Device, an oral sleep appliance that gently moves the lower jaw forward to open the lower airway to relieve both snoring and sleep apnea.
