DURHAM, North Carolina—Avalon Stairlifts, a provider of automated stairlifts and home medical equipment for seniors and others with mobility issues, launched its new battery-powered swivel chair stairlift. The stairlift chair allows the user to swivel to the desired descending position with little to no effort, giving complete control to the user.
"This innovative feature enhances your transition from the top landing access point to the swivelled descending position," the company said in a statement. "The whole chair when swivelled is fully over the top landing keeping you away from the top of the stairs and acting as a protective barrier preventing any accidental falls."
As the chair reaches the top of the stairs, its battery-powered design allows the user to swivel the seat to face the landing or desired position. The company said the chair was designed with the idea of combining functionality and convenience. The chair adds an extra level of safety with its ease of use, and due to being run by a battery the chair can even be used during a power outage.
