NCAMES Shines Spotlight on Bid Program, H.R. 3790

CARY, N.C. — The North Carolina Association for Medical
Equipment Services has launched a website at SaveJobsNC.com to educate
state and local leaders as well as Medicare beneficiaries about the
effects of competitive
bidding.

The state association estimates 600 positions will be cut in the
greater Charlotte area, one of the nine Round 1 competitive bidding
areas. Some 1,200 to 1,600 job cuts are expected statewide as a
result of the bid program.

The website includes information on H.R. 3790, which would
repeal the bidding program, along with a list of which North
Carolina elected officials in the House and Senate support the bill
and which do not.
