DURYEA, Pennsylvania—Pride Mobility launched its latest product, the Go Go Elite Traveller 2 4-Wheel on Monday, April 1. This first-of-its-kind addition to the Go Go series of scooters will set a new industry standard upon launch and boast the tightest turning radius of any 4-wheel mobility scooter on the market Pride said. 

On Friday, March 8 the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART) announced it will launch a new newsletter theme along with additional news on how it plans to improve communication. The newsletter will move from the end to the beginning of the month. It will also send out a bi-weekly update, scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 20. 

NCART also said it added a new marketing resource, Barry Steelman.

Chris Carrino and Brooke Slick have been named winners of the Pride Roll Model contest and will represent the company as Pride Roll Models. The contest attracted nearly 100 applicants from across the United States.

WATERLOO, Iowa— U.S. Rehab is excited to announce key leadership updates. Tyler Mahncke will now serve as president following the retirement of Greg Packer, and Ted Metcalf will serve as director of business development, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee—National Seating & Mobility (NSM), a North American provider of comprehensive mobility solutions, has named Crispin Teufel as chief executive officer (CEO). Chuck Bodner, who had been serving as interim CEO, will continue in his role as chief financial officer (CFO).

Elizabeth McCormick and Keith Russell have been named winners of the Q Roll Model contest and will be Quantum’s next Q Roll Models. The contest was active for two months and received nearly 100 entries from across the United States.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Permobil announced the successful acquisition of PDG Mobility, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The acquisition adds expertise and a range of tilt-in-space products to Permobil’s portfolio of complex rehabilitation solutions. Permobil said PDG is known for products with high durability, unique and improved functionality and attractive design, as well as customer support.  

NASHVILLE, Tennessee—National Seating & Mobility (NSM), a provider of comprehensive mobility solutions, continues to expand the company’s Momentum Academy education series with more events hosted this year across the country to educate clinical partners, including physical therapists, occupational therapists and other health care providers about best practices in mobility solutions and complex rehab technology (CRT).

Pride Mobility announced the last of its new product releases for the summer, the PX4 mobility scooter, which offers a 500-pound weight capacity and a top speed of up to 9.3 mph. The PX4 also has 23.4-mile battery range, which Pride said makes it a good option for those seeking outdoor adventure.

Quantum Rehab announced the return of its Q Roll Model Contest for 2023.

Rehab Medical, a provider of complex rehab technology (CRT), announced the opening of its first customized mobility equipment location in Louisiana with the launch of its Baton Rouge office. Claire Murphy, a certified assistive technology professional (ATP) who has worked in the Gulf Coast area for Rehab Medical over the previous five years has recently been promoted and will lead the charge in delivering specialized mobility equipment to all those facing complex mobility challenges.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee—National Seating & Mobility (NSM), North America’s largest provider of comprehensive mobility solutions, has selected Gregg Meheriuk to serve as senior vice president of new business and strategy. As a member of NSM’s executive leadership team, Meheriuk’s work will include leading the company’s new business strategy and the Home Accessibility and Canada divisions.

TAMPA, Florida—The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) announced Toby Cummings, CAE, has been hired as NMEDA’s new chief executive officer, effective July 10, 2023.

Cummings comes to the association from the International Municipal Signal Association, a 126-year-old certifying body of public safety professionals, where he served as executive director for the last four years. Cummings succeeds Danny Langfield, NMEDA’s CEO since 2016.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (December 9, 2022)—After more than five years of research and development to build the wheelchair technology company LUCI, company officials announced they were opening its platform to leading developers and research partners through a new program called LUCI Sandbox.

LUCI is a technology platform for wheelchair robotics, research, and user health made up of a combination of proprietary sensors, advanced software and a collection of patented inventions.
