MK Battery Buys Italian Battery Company
ANAHEIM, California—MK Battery has purchased Italian battery company Sironi Batterie Srl, a move said the company helps it expand its global footprint.
Founded in 1924 and based in Milan, Italy, Sironi Batterie has had a close association with East Penn Manufacturing, the parent company of MK Battery for many decades. That relationship, and the progression to partnering with MK Battery in Italy, makes this acquisition a natural fit, the company said.
“For decades, it has been clear that Sironi, East Penn and MK Battery share similar values,” said Walker Rheem, president of MK Battery. “These companies are relationship-driven businesses that care deeply about serving their customers, supporting employees, offering quality products and building for the future. We are incredibly excited about the opportunities ahead as Sironi Batterie joins the MK Battery family.”
Sironi Managing Director Sergio Sironi and the entire Sironi teamwill continue leading the company, preserving the culture and reputation that customers have come to trust over generations, the companies said in a release.
“Today, as we join MK Battery, a new chapter begins, bringing greater opportunities for growth and development,” Sironi said. “Our team in Italy is ready to give its all to impose the excellence of MK/DEKA branded products and of MK Battery, which we are joining with pride.”
