Independent Living Systems Hires Carbonell

MIAMI — Independent Living
Systems, a management services company focused on
introducing managed care to populations with chronic care and other
special care needs, has appointed Josefina G. Carbonell as senior
vice president of long-term care. Carbonell served as assistant
secretary for aging at HHS for seven years during the Bush
administration, and previously was president and CEO of the
Little Havana Activities &
Nutrition Centers in Miami-Dade County, Fla., a Hispanic
geriatric health and human services organization.
