DME MACs Doing OK, Providers Say

BALTIMORE — Nearly 76 percent of DME providers told CMS
they’re either “satifsifed” or “very satisfied” with their DME
MAC’s performance, according to the results of this year’s Medicare
Contractor Provider Satisfaction Survey (MCPSS). Just over 10
percent said they were “dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied.”

Of DME MAC business functions, providers said they were most
satisfied with claims processing and least satisfied with appeals.
The survey also showed the DME MACs could improve satisfaction by
resolving problems without providers having to make multiple
inquiries and promptly resolving claims-related issues.
