CMS Releases Updated Guidance on Competitive Bidding Round 2028
WASHINGTON—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released additional guidance on Round 2028 of the competitive bid program for durable medical equipment, and also announced the expected number of contract awards for the first tie, according to the American Association for Homecare. They are:
- Class II continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps: 10
- Hydrophilic urinary catheters: 10
- Off-the-shelf (OTS) back braces: 3
- OTS knee braces: 4
- OTS upper extremity braces: 5
- Ostomy supplies: 6
- Urological supplies: 5
CMS also released four new updated fact sheets on August 13. The new documents include information on the following:
- Antitrust guidance (New)
- Common ownership and common control (New)
- Determining the number of contract awards and calculating a single payment amount (New)
- Round 2028 terms and definitions (New)
