CMS Listening Sessions on OIG Reports

BALTIMORE — CMS has announced a national DME “listening
session” this afternoon, the first in a series of three outreach
calls that will focus on several Office of Inspector General
reports.

The purpose of the calls, CMS said, “is to educate providers and
suppliers on specific vulnerabilities that exist in DME, Part A,
Part B, and Home Health and Hospice settings related to the
reports.”

CMS contractor medical directors will identify common topics and
billing errors in order to educate providers and suppliers on how
“behaviors can be changed to ensure full compliance with Medicare
policy, billing instructions, and medical review guidance,” an
agency notice said.

No questions will be taken during the call, but CMS has opened a
mailbox where questions can be submitted after the call.
