CMS’ Brandt Meets with AAHomecare

AAHomecare reported last week that its Regulatory
Council met with CMS Director of Program Integrity Kim Brandt about
the agency’s increased focus on preventing fraud at the front end
of the Medicare provider enrollment process. According to an
association update, Brandt said greater funding from the Obama
administration should help CMS serve “as a more effective
gatekeeper.” She also told the group the National Supplier
Clearinghouse is hiring more staff to check for accreditation and
surety bond compliance.
