BAYADA Teams Up with Maribel Health to Develop Hospital-at-Home Models for Health Systems

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania—BAYADA Home Health Care, a nonprofit home health care provider, announced its collaboration with Maribel Health to launch a new platform to enhance and expand acute care offerings in the home setting, advancing a shared mission to make the home the center of the health system.

Many hospitals are struggling to meet inpatient capacity needs. Adding to the challenge, an increasing number of individuals are living with serious diagnoses or recovering from surgery, injury or other acute events. These patients often rely on hospitals for ongoing testing, treatment and interventions—requiring visits that risk disruptions in care, complications and worse outcomes.

Advanced care at home can free up hospital bed days through earlier discharges and avoidance of inpatient stays while improving clinical outcomes and patient experience. When more care needs can be met at home, risks such as hospital-born infection are reduced, and patients and their caregivers can spend more time focused on healing. By integrating clinical data and care logistics, health systems can deliver a seamless care journey and exceptional outcomes for their patients.

As a turnkey solution for providing services like hospital-at-home care, the Maribel platform combines technology, scalable clinical models and operational management services to fill gaps in the current infrastructure and create the capacity needed for health systems to meet rapidly growing demographic demands. As the platform evolves, Maribel is aiming to be able to offer health systems the opportunity to transfer the financial risk of managing care for a hospital patient to Maribel, which said it will provide quality outcomes at a reduced cost to the health system.
