AxisCare Unveils New AI Receptionist for Homecare
WACO, Texas—AxisCare, a provider of homecare management software, announced the release of Axi Assist, an AI-powered receptionist designed to help homecare agencies manage communications 24/7, reduce the burden of on-call staffing and take faster action when operational needs arise.
Built directly into the AxisCare platform, Axi Assist can answer calls, capture information, initiate workflows and escalate situations when human involvement is needed. The company said one of its first applications addresses a persistent challenge for homecare agencies: caregiver call-offs. When a caregiver calls to report that they cannot make a shift, Axi Assist captures the details and gets the scheduling process moving right away. The capability can also handle calls after hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, helping agencies respond to important issues that might otherwise sit in voicemail until a coordinator is available.
Axi Assist also helps agencies address missed clock-ins through automated caregiver outreach that begins one minute after the start of their shift. The outreach happens within the window where a caregiver can still clock themselves in on time, helping visits stay compliant and billable while reducing the need for office staff to chase down missed clock-ins.
“AI is most valuable when it lives where the work happens and has the context to help people take action,” said John Atkinson, chief technology officer and chief operations officer of AxisCare. “Axi Assist is a great example of that. It takes repetitive, time-sensitive work off teams’ plates while keeping people involved when their judgment and expertise are needed.”
Axi Assist is the latest addition to the AxisCare Intelligence AI-Powered Suite, adding to capabilities like care analytics and scheduling, along with the newly introduced AI Form Transcription, expanding AxisCare’s vision for an all-in-one, AI-powered System of Action that goes beyond recording what happened to help agencies determine what needs to happen next and move work forward.
“Axi Assist represents where we see AI heading in home care,” Atkinson said. “The opportunity isn’t adding AI for the sake of AI. It’s embedding AI into the workflows agenciesalready use every day, helping teams take action faster and spend more time focused on delivering the best care possible.”
Axi Assist is now available.
