  • Kevin G. Strafford-Price, founder of Avalon Stairlifts, is a veteran of the stairlift industry with roots in aerospace engineering. He co-designed the worldu2019s first battery-powered stairlift for Bison Bede in 1987 and Acornu2019s first battery stairlift in 1990. He later founded MediTek Stairlifts, which sold more than 160,000 units worldwide before its acquisition by Otto Stairlifts. Strafford-Price also serves on the ASME 18.1 code and standards committee.
