Apria Pares Billing and Collection Jobs

TAMPA, Fla. — In continuing efforts to restructure its
business model, Lake Forest, Calif.-based Apria Healthcare is
cutting 79 billing and collection jobs in Tampa, Fla., and moving
the work overseas, according to Tampa Bay Online.

Late last month, the company, one of the nation’s largest HME
providers, said it planned to lay off 33 collection and billing
workers in Minster, Ohio, and shift the work to Jackson, Tenn., and
Kansas City, Kan. The moves are the latest in Apria’s ongoing
efforts to trim its billing and collection jobs.

Last year, Apria announced that it would close seven billing
centers nationwide because of oxygen reimbursement cuts. (For more,
