AAHomecare Corporate Partners Level Up Their Investment in HME Policy Efforts

A group of AAHomecare member companies aim to support the association’s public policy work by joining the new Legacy corporate partner tier. Companies now supporting the association at the new level are making an annual dues commitment of $125,000; they include Apria & Byram, ResMed & Brightree and Medline.

According to AAHomecare, this is the latest instance of a member-initiated effort to generate additional support for AAHomecare’s efforts to secure better public policy and an improved business environment for the HME community. Dan Starck, executive vice president with Owens and Minor, proposed the new level as endorsement of the association’s public policy work on behalf of their Apria and Byram companies.

“We see great value in AAHomecare and the industry associations,” said Starck. “We have accomplished a tremendous amount over the past few years. A strong, healthy industry is good for all constituents, and we want to do our part in supporting AAHomecare.”

ResMed, Brightree and Medline also followed suit when Owens and Minor proposed the new level; Medtrade is also included on account of its significant financial support for the association.

“ResMed is united with AAHomecare to improve millions of lives by keeping people healthier and happier at home,” said Larissa D’Andrea, global vice president of government and clinical affairs, and market access at ResMed. “Their advocacy is critical to protect equitable access to innovative home respiratory therapies and care.”

“AAHomecare’s success in advancing sustainable reimbursement policies and sensible regulatory approaches at the federal and state level has tangible, bottom-line positive impact for our HME supplier customers,” said Paul Miller, director of business development, HME providers, post-acute care division for Medline. “We’re increasing our support for the association to ensure we keep adding to those wins for the HME community.”

The new Legacy level is the third instance of a member-led effort to increase financial support for the association.  In 2017, Drive DeVilbiss challenged other HME companies to join them at a new Platinum tier. In 2021, 11 AAHomecare members came together to create a Diamond partner cohort.
