Invacare Acquires U.K. Support Surfaces Company

ELYRIA, Ohio–Invacare Corp. has acquired a U.K.-based
manufacturer of foam pressure-reducing products. Medical Support
Systems (MSS) Holdings designs and manufactures mattresses,
overlays and cushions for both armchairs and wheelchairs.

According to Invacare, the company will continue to operate
independently under its existing management team. “We are pleased
to have MSS join Invacare and strengthen our European position with
its product offerings and market presence,” said Mal Mixon,
Invacare chairman and CEO. Terms of the cash purchase were not
disclosed.
