The Compliance Team Founder, CEO Sandra Canally Honored With Career Award
SPRING HOUSE, Pennsylvania—The Compliance Team (TCT) Founder and CEO Sandra C. Canally has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Career Achievement Award by Drug Store News (DSN). The award is part of the eighth annual DSN Top Women in Health, Wellness and Beauty Awards, celebrating exceptional female leadership and long-term dedication to the healthcare and retail pharmacy industries.
The Career Achievement Award recognizes leaders whose lifetime contributions, strategic vision and commitment have fundamentally advanced patient care, safety and operational excellence nationwide, the company said.
“Receiving the Career Achievement Award from Drug Store News is a profound honor,” said Canally. “This recognition affirms an important mission throughout my career, to empower healthcare providers so they can focus on what matters most—providing safe, exceptional care to their patients.”

Over a career spanning decades, TCT said Canally has been a pioneering force in healthcare accreditation. A registered nurse, she founded The Compliance Team in 1994 to address the need for simpler, quality-driven assessment criteria. Under her leadership, it became the first woman-owned healthcare accreditation organization to receive national deeming authority from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
Canally’s ongoing innovation and attention to current and emerging trends have helped establish The Compliance Team, a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise, as one of the industry’s most respected and sought-after accreditation organizations, the company said. Her signature “Exemplary Provider” accreditation programs have changed how pharmacy services, durable medical equipment (DMEPOS) providers and rural health clinics demonstrate safety and value.
“Through simplified, actionable standards that validate care quality, these programs have helped thousands of healthcare providers improve patient outcomes and successfully navigate complex regulatory requirements,” TCT said.
Adding an industry-wide perspective on her impact, Mike Wysong, CEO of CARE Pharmacies, noted the long-standing value of her work in the industry and for his organization.
“I’ve known Sandy for the better part of a decade, and she’s committed and relentless in her pursuit to improve the quality standards of the providers that she engages with,” Wysong said. “The work that she’s done on behalf of our organization has allowed us to serve our customers in a higher capacity. Sandy exemplifies the distinctions reflected within this award.”
Canally was officially recognized alongside fellow industry leaders at the DSN Top Women in Health, Wellness and Beauty awards ceremony.
