Albert Honored for Service
Albert, who led the group’s board during its creation from the merger of the National Association for Homecare and Hospice and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, was also honored during the conference opening for his efforts.
“Ken, you have been truly indispensable, not only for the formation of the Alliance, but also to the care-at-home community as a whole,” Alliance President and CEO Jennifer Sheets said when she surprised him on stage with the award. “You have served with undeniable passion, unpatched dedication and remarkable integrity, and your vision and foresight as the chair of the first Alliance transition board and then its standing board of directors has really helped create one united voice for care-at-home that has allowed us to protect and expand what we know to be the essential services of home-based care.”
Albert said when the two organizations were brought together to create the Alliance, the objective was to look toward the future while honoring the legacy.
“I’m proud of the work that we’ve done,” Albert said. “Our members deserve the absolute best trade association possible for the work that they do, and to perpetuate their missions in the communities that they serve. It’s been my distinct honor to serve in this role, and I wish you all the best.”
As the new Alliance board takes over in 2027, Albert will serve in an ex officio role for the Alliance.
