Resmed Launches AirTouch F40 Full Face Fabric CPAP Mask in US

SAN DIEGO, California—Sleep and respiratory company Resmed announced the U.S. launch of AirTouch F40, the newest addition to its growing portfolio of fabric continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) masks. Designed for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to provide greater comfort and choice in therapy, the AirTouch F40 helps address key factors that can influence long-term adherence.

The mask is designed for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which includes an estimated 61 million people in the United States. For those on CPAP therapy, mask comfort and fit can play an important role in how people stay engaged with therapy over time, Resmed said in its product announcement.

AirTouch F40 brings Resmed’s proprietary ComfiSoft fabric cushion to a minimalist design that is intended to adapt to a person’s face as they move throughout the night. The mask’s wide fit range and intuitive design are also intended to make it easier for healthcare providers to help patients find a comfortable fit and support them throughout therapy, the company said.

Resmed said it has seen encouraging outcomes across its fabric mask portfolio, including a 6% increase in 90-day compliance among users of a fabric-cushioned mask compared with users of a silicone-cushioned mask.

“AirTouch F40 is one example of how we’re continuing to redefine what’s possible to create more comfortable and personalized therapy experiences,” said Justin Leong, chief product officer at Resmed. “By building on the success of AirFit F40 and introducing a new fabric option, we’re giving people greater flexibility to choose the mask that works best for them. That’s the kind of innovation that can help more people start and stay on CPAP therapy.”
