Medically Modern Expands Insurance Coverage to Nearly All Major Payers

NEW YORK—Medically Modern, a nationwide provider of continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin pumps and related diabetes supplies, announced that its acquisition of Mid-Island Medical Supply has expanded the company’s insurance coverage from Medicare only to nearly every major commercial and public payer.

Through the transaction, which closed on Oct. 31, 2025, Medically Modern acquired active payer contracts including Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fidelis Care, the NYSHIP Empire Plan, New York Medicaid and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The company said this expansion removes the most common barrier patients face in obtaining continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps. Patients who previously could not be served because their plan was out of network can now receive supplies through their existing insurance.

“Coverage is the whole game in this business,” said Corey Deutsch, founder and CEO of Medically Modern. “A patient can be prescribed a CGM by their doctor and still not get one because their plan isn’t in network with the supplier. This acquisition means we can say yes to far more of those patients.”

Medically Modern serves more than 2,000 patients across all 50 states, and its payer network now covers more than 85% of U.S. lives. The company helps patients verify coverage, work through prior authorization and other insurance requirements and receive supplies at home.

Mid-Island Medical Supply has served patients since 1953, providing durable medical equipment, mobility equipment, custom surgical compression garments, orthotics and post-mastectomy products. The business has been accredited by The Joint Commission since 1998.
