New Day Healthcare Names Kathy Poland as New CEO

MCKINNEY, Texas—New Day Healthcare, a home health and hospice services company, announced that Kathy Poland will lead the company as its new CEO.

Poland, who originally served as New Day’s chief operating officer, took the interim CEO position in March, following the death of the company’s founder and previous CEO, G. Scott Herman.

“Scott built New Day on a foundation of honor, kindness and an unwavering commitment to patients and families,” Poland said in a statement. “I am deeply honored by the trust placed in me to lead this organization. Our leadership team has worked together for many years, and we remain committed to supporting our employees, serving our patients with excellence and building upon the vision Scott established. The future of New Day is incredibly bright, and we are just getting started.”

Founded by Herman in 2020, New Day offers home health, hospice, pediatric care, personal homecare and clinical decision support. The company operates across Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, New Mexico and Indiana, serving nearly 180,000 patients annually. The company employs approximately 10,000 team members.
