Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s 10th Annual National Convening on Military and Veteran Caregiving

WASHINGTON—The Elizabeth Dole Foundation announced that its 10th Annual National Convening will take place on Tuesday, May 20 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., with Douglas A. Collins, 12th secretary of Veterans Affairs, delivering the keynote address. 

This year’s theme, “A Blueprint for Action: Mapping the future of caregiving in a changing world,” will mobilize top leaders, experts and advocates around the dynamic environment affecting caregivers and real-world strategies for creating a future in which caregivers thrive.

“As historic trends in caregiving begin to collide with unprecedented change and uncertainty, the need to bring together the brightest minds and most innovative thinkers on these issues has never been more urgent,” said Steve Schwab, CEO, Elizabeth Dole Foundation.

The National Convening will be comprised of keynote speeches, including Secretary Collins, interactive discussions and hands-on sessions organized around the Foundation’s priority areas for America’s caregivers: emotional and mental wellbeing; economic mobility; caregiving youth and families; and the creation of supportive ecosystems for veterans and their caregivers. The event will be organized around the findings of the Foundation’s 2024 study conducted by RAND, America’s Military & Veteran Caregivers: Hidden Heroes Emerging from the Shadows.
