One Down, Seven to Go: CMS’ Second ODF on the Way
BALTIMORE–CMS has scheduled its second Special Open Door Forum
in an eight-part series on the competitive bidding Round 1
rebid.
Called “Learn the Rules to Submit a Bid Successfully,”
the conference call will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 2 to 3
p.m. ET.
According to the CMS notice, the call will provide an overview of
the competitive bidding areas, product categories and important
rules to remember when submitting bids. Eligibility requirements
such as supplier standards, subcontracting, licensure, bonding and
accreditation will also be discussed, as well as an overview of
special rules for physicians and treating practitioners, skilled
nursing facilities and hospitals.

Registration for bidder user IDs and passwords opened Aug. 17, and
CMS is urging providers to register early to avoid delays in
accessing the online bidding system when bidding opens.
