25th Annual Heartland Conference Keynote Speakers Revealed

WATERLOO, Iowa—VGM & Associates announced David Atkins and Joe Delagrave will feature as keynote speakers for the 2026 VGM Heartland Conference, taking place Monday, June 8—Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Waterloo, Iowa. 

Selected to headline Heartland’s 25th anniversary, Atkins and Delagrave will bring perspectives on leadership, purpose, resilience and decision‑making to professionals across the home medical equipment (HME), respiratory, sleep therapy, wound care, complex rehab technology (CRT) and broader home healthcare communities.

David Atkins is a retired New York State Police captain, 9/11 first responder, entrepreneur and bestselling author of “The One Decision Away Philosophy.” Atkins challenges audiences to recognize how a single courageous decision can change momentum and unlock lasting personal and professional growth. His message blends real‑life experience, practical leadership lessons, and actionable tools focused on clarity, confidence and consistent progress. Atkins will deliver his keynote presentation on Tuesday, June 9, at 8:30 a.m. CT.

Joe Delagrave is a two‑time Paralympic medalist and head coach of the U.S. Wheelchair Rugby Team. After a boating accident left him paralyzed at 19, Delagrave went on to earn Paralympic, World Championship and Parapan Games medals. A dynamic keynote speaker with a background in consulting and counseling, Delagrave will take the stage Wednesday, June 10, at 8 a.m. CT, drawing on his experiences in sports, leadership and life.
